Fulham Good Neighbours, a heartwarming community-focused organisation, is dedicated to enhancing the lives of older and disabled residents through both practical assistance and engaging social connection initiatives.
As the art facilitator for their delightful social art classes, I've found the experience to be not only thoroughly enjoyable but also incredibly inspiring. Leading two classes, one in person and one online, we've delved into a myriad of artistic themes, from exploring art history and nature to hearts and cherubs. Each session is joyfully curated with a diverse array of options to spark their creativity, and it's truly uplifting to see them embrace their artistic freedom with such enthusiasm. Their talent and stories serve as constant sources of inspiration, leaving me in awe of their remarkable abilities and the joy they bring to our creative endeavours together.
Founded in 1966, Fulham Good Neighbour Service originated from the Fulham District Nursing Association. In its current form, it relocated to Rosaline Hall in 2006 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. Notably, in 2019, the Charity was honored with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, highlighting its dedication to serving the community. With a vision to cultivate an inclusive community where neighbors support each other, Fulham Good Neighbour Service is committed to enriching the lives of older and disabled residents in Fulham through practical assistance and opportunities for social connection and meaningful contribution to society. These values form the foundation of their mission and drive their efforts towards fostering a supportive and interconnected community.
