My first ‘hello, how do you do’ encounter with a stag was at the lush Richmond Parkalmost a decade ago. Prior to that, I had seen them depicted in paintings and sculptures, and also on screen in action. But nothing quite prepared me for my face-to-face meeting. He (I think it was a ‘he’) exuded such a regal and majestic aura, that I almost curtsied!
With Burns Night coming up, I thought it would be a fitting time to pay homage to the Scottish symbol of fertility, purity, power and freedom.
